FR9000 Mandatory

The Sens-O-Lock FR9000 mandatory ignition interlock unit was developed for drivers who have been convicted of an alcohol related  (DUI, DWI, OUI) violations that result in a restricted license. Most states now have programs that allow these drivers to continue driving with an ignition interlock installed in their car.

This product conforms to state programs and enables drivers to regain their driving privileges under a zero tolerance program administered by the state in which the violation occurred. The mandatory unit allows drivers to complete their court imposed sentence while keeping their job and freedom to be with their families.

We are one of the only companies in the industry offering both a lease and purchase option, allowing you to keep the ignition interlock device beyond the terms of your court sentence. Purchasing the mandatory unit will help ensure that you and your family members never drive over the legal BrAC limit again.

  • Easy to read digital display
  • Sleek design
  • Fewer false readings as a result of advanced sensors that are highly effective at distinguishing between alcohol and food related readings
  • Built in motion detector helps prevent violations due to missed rolling retests
  • Key pad to enter lock-out codes in emergencies
  • Battery back-up preserves history and helps prevent violations due to missing data
  • National Highway Transportation Safety Association (NHTSA) approved
  • Optional light kit for individuals with a hearing impairment or for use on motorcycle installations – this feature includes a light display mounted on the dashboard or instrument panel that flashes when a rolling retest is required.
  • When the ignition is turned on, the system prompts the driver to provide a breath sample.
  • The driver is required to provide a deep lung breath sample lasting 4 - 6 seconds.
  • Within a few seconds the device analyzes the BrAC (breath alcohol content) level and the driver is informed whether the breath sample passes and the vehicle can be started.
  • In court mandated situations, the driver must provide not only the initial breath sample but must also pass random rolling retests (RRT) within 3 minutes of notification. If a retest is failed, the driver is instructed to pull over and shut off the car. If this instruction is ignored the horn sounds and the lights blink until the car is shut off as required by the mandating state.
  • The system records all test data—both initial and rolling retests, as well as any attempt to tamper with the unit. The information recorded is downloadable, printable and is transmitted to and accessed by court officials.
